THE SHORT VERSION

ETNA WATCH sets no cookies, uses no browser storage, runs no advertising, and has no accounts. We do not collect, store, profile or share any personal information about visitors. The only measurement is anonymous, cookieless page-view counting (Vercel Web Analytics, described below). That is why there is no cookie banner.

WHAT IS TECHNICALLY PROCESSED

Like any website, serving these pages involves some incidental technical processing of your IP address:

• Hosting (Vercel). The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., whose infrastructure processes visitor IP addresses in ordinary, short-lived server logs in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See the Vercel privacy policy.
• Map tiles (OpenStreetMap). The interactive map loads its background tiles directly from OpenStreetMap's servers, so when the map is displayed your browser sends its IP address and user agent to the OpenStreetMap Foundation. See the OSMF privacy policy. Apart from the analytics script below, no other third-party requests are made from your browser: monitoring data and graphics from INGV, Toulouse VAAC and other sources are fetched by our server, never by you.
• Page-view analytics (Vercel Web Analytics). We count page views using Vercel's cookieless analytics: no cookies, no persistent identifiers, no cross-site tracking. A visitor is distinguished only for the duration of a visit via a temporary hash that cannot identify you and is discarded; we see aggregate numbers (which pages, how many visits, country-level origin), never individuals. • The embeddable status badge. Other websites may embed our live status badge or widget. If you see it on a third-party site, your browser fetches a small image from our host (Vercel, as above): ordinary hosting processing of your IP address, nothing more. The badge sets no cookies, runs no tracking, and knows nothing about the page embedding it.

WHAT WE DON'T DO

• No cookies, localStorage or fingerprinting of any kind
• No advertising, social-media trackers or cross-site tracking
• No forms, accounts or newsletters: you cannot give us personal data even if you wanted to
• No selling or sharing of any data (there is none to sell)

If the site ever adds a feature that changes this picture, this notice will be updated first and the date above revised.
