On Etna, tremor amplitude is one of the most reliable indicators of how intense the activity is: rapid, sustained rises typically accompany lava fountains and ash emission from the summit craters.
Each graph shows the RMS amplitude of the seismic signal over the last 7 days, on a logarithmic scale, recorded by a summit-area station. The reference station ECPN carries INGV's official green/yellow/red bands classifying the tremor level as low, medium or high. The generation time of each graph is shown below the image.
INGV publishes no public numeric tremor feed — the graphs are the official product. This page displays them exactly as issued, never re-drawing them or extracting values, so what you see is always the official data and never our estimate.
